Football opens opportunities: a competition for young artists

The Federal Research and Methodology Center for Psychology and Tolerance Education supported by ANO Russia-2018  Organizing Committee announces the launch of the All-Russian Football without Discrimination art competition among young artists aged 15 to 30. 


In anticipation of the FIFA  2018 World Cup, the Federal Research and Methodology Center for Psychology and Tolerance Education, supported by the Russia-2018 Organizing Committee, announces the launch of the All-Russian Football without Discrimination art competition. The competition is timed to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which is celebrated annually on March 21. 

The key objective of the competition is to reach out to the Russian youth and society in general to create an environment free from discrimination by popularizing the humanistic values of sport, and football in particular. 


The competition is open to art school students, students of secondary vocational educational organizations and young artists aged 15 to 30 from all cities in Russia.  


Application and artwork submission, including photographs, drawings, posters, paintings, will be processed online from February 8 to 28, 2018. 


Prior to beginning their creative work, all competition participants will have to think about how football helps unite people around the world, what kind of values their artwork carries and how they see the role of football in promoting the idea of equal opportunities. 


The works taking part in the competition must correspond to one of three categories: 


Football breaks down stereotypes: 


works on intercultural dialogue, accepting cultural traditions of different peoples, creating an environment free from discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality and other characteristics, and the role of football in creating a multicultural environment and mutual respect.


 Football opens opportunities: 


works on social diversity, involving people with different abilities and the role of football in promoting the idea of inclusivity and problem-solving, socially unprotected groups of society.


Football unites continents


works dedicated to the role of football in maintaining peace and cooperation,  preventing interpersonal relation conflicts.


The award ceremony will be held on March 21, 2018. All competition participants will receive certificates, and winners will receive diplomas. The best works will be presented at the exhibitions held by the organizers and partners of the competition, as well as presented in the cities-organizers of the FIFA World Cup 2018.

The Federal Research and  Methodology Center for  Psychology and Tolerance Education expands the practical experience accumulated by the Tolerance Center of the Jewish Museum. The museum, in turn, has been successfully conducting social, pedagogical and psychological activities in developing tolerance awareness among the youth and preventing extremism and xenophobia since 2012.

The Center's activities are addressed to educational organizations and teachers of the Russian Federation.
